Separatist fighters assassinate the deputy mayor of the commune of Babessi

Nkwato Solomon, 2nd Deputy Mayor of Babessi Council in Ngoketunjia Division, tragically lost his life on Friday, March 22, 2024, in an incident involving separatist fighters from Ambazonia. The tragic incident occurred when Mr. Nkwato, was tragically shot dead at close range within the confines of his own home. Witnesses described a scene of total chaos as the attackers fled, leaving the deputy mayor seriously injured, from which he died.
This recent incident adds to a long list of targeted killings that have caused much fear and uncertainty among Anglophones, highlighting the ongoing crisis that continues to affect the Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
